As head of the firm’s DeFuniak Springs office, Mark has extensive knowledge of Northwest Florida government, having served as an elected official while cultivating many professional relationships in DeFuniak Springs, the seat of Walton County. His experience inside and outside of the court and his caring demeanor have made him an invaluable partner to the hundreds whom have entrusted Mark with their legal matters over the last two decades.

After running his own practice, Andrews & Davis, P.A., Mark joined Matthews & Hawkins in 2010 in an Of Counsel position, and continues to represent clients on matters of general civil litigation, including construction law and real property law, family law matters, criminal defense and appellate work.

Mark grew up in Northwest Florida and graduated with his Bachelors degree from Florida State University in 1984. After earning his Juris Doctorate from the FSU College of Law in 1988, Mark moved back to DeFuniak Springs and joined Allan Ramey to start the firm Ramey & Davis in DeFuniak Springs. In 1993, Mark left the firm for an appointment with the North America Family Institute, where he served as the Director of the institute’s Juvenile Justice program. In 1994, Mark started his own firm in DeFuniak Springs.

Additionally, Mark is a passionate advocate for local schools. He was appointed by Florida Governor Lawton Chiles in 1995 to the Walton County School Board, and has won every re-election since. Currently, Mark serves as the Chairman of the board. In addition to his duties on the board, he has volunteered as an assistant basketball coach for both Freeport and Paxton high schools, coaching alongside his brother. Also, Mark is active in the local community as a member of the DeFuniak Springs Kiwanis Club and he is an elder at the First Presbyterian Church in DeFuniak Springs where he sings in the chancel choir.

Mark married his college sweetheart Susan in 1986, and they celebrated the birth of their son, Jackson, three and a half years ago.
